We had our second weekly appointment today. I am negative for Strep B which they test for routinely between Week 36-38, so that is very good to know. I also didn't put on very much weight this past week so it was nice to have a little slow-down there.
Baby's heartbeat was back at 150 so someone must have decided to be awake for this one! I am also measuring well and have gone from 1cm to 2 cm dilated and still mostly effaced so things are moving along. We'll see what happens!?
I also asked about my very swollen ankles. About two weeks ago they started to swell and I think only someone who knew my feet and ankles well (like just me, maybe Max) could tell. They are so swollen now, as are my feet and calves, that anyone could tell. My ankles are about as big around as my knees I think and my feet and legs are all splotchy purple if I stand for any length of time. It feels awful. Unfortunately, the doctor said there is nothing I can do really except try and keep my feet elevated. Salt intake, water, etc. won't make it go away:( During our Infant CPR class yesterday (we are both now certified by the way) the nurse said that you swell even more after delivery (how big can my ankles get?!?!?!) and it lasts for about 2 weeks. Yikes!
However, with all that being said I think I have had a relatively easy, smooth pregnancy and if swollen ankles and feet are the worst that happens to me (so far they are) then that is a pretty darn good deal!
