Evie's First...

...OSU-Michigan Game: Go Bucks!

...Visit from Great-grandma Judy...
...trip out of state...
So we went to North Carolina to visit family for the entire week of Thanksgiving. Evie did great on the car trips and we were able to make the 10-11 hour trip in 2 days both ways--usually doing the bulk the first day until uber baby melt-down and then just about 3 hours or so on day two. She is awesome!

Here she is as we headed out last Monday morning:
...hotel stay...
She did better sleeping on the way back but during our hotel stay on the way to NC she did not sleep hardly at all--woke up at least every two hours!
...walk in mommy's shirt...

...THANKSGIVING...
Which included her first mashed potatoes and turkey with sweet potatoes (baby style). She wore her super snazzy black dress from grandma and played with her pretty bracelet from the Spencers:

...and her first real swing on a swing set and slide down a slide!
She preferred the swing to the slide (BY FAR). Daddy and cousin Kate pushed her on the swing and she had loads of fun!

Has it Really Been Two Weeks?

We have been posting slackers, but it has been very busy. Aunt Laurie had her first belly dancing concert and we all went and had a good time.
Evie also got to play in the leaves for her first time, but she did not seem to enjoy it as much as I thought she would--maybe because I wouldn't let her eat the leaves!
Then Evie went with both mommy and daddy on voting day for her first set of elections ever and we were super glad issue #5 won! Plus we were sick and then I went on my last scheduled trip for the year, which was to California so I was able to get Evie her first mouse ears. She looks so cute in them!
Nana and grandpa also got Evie her big-girl car seat this past weekend and we also put her crib down so that she will be safe now that she tries to pull herself up and might start crawling around soon--although she seems perfectly content to roll around like crazy!
And then today her friends Jamie, Rob and Jack came over tonight to have dinner and play and she had loads of fun playing cars with the boys:
So we've been busy--and still to come this week she has a doctor's appointment, will meet her cool great-grandma Judy for the first time AND watch her first OSU-Michigan game on TV. Then next week we are going to North Carolina for Thanksgiving for her first trip out of state since she was born (cause she went lots of places in mommy's belly).

The Germinator's First Halloween

We think Evie might be the germinator because mommy and daddy were very sick with a stomach bug this weekend, and about 80% of the people we hung out with on Saturday also got it. I am blaming Evie as the original source of the bug because 2 teachers at her daycare also got it, so seems likely that she was the source of the ookie germs. Ironically, she has yet to be sick herself! ***This just in*** Nana and Grandpa who are wonderful and amazing, came and cared for Evie all day Sunday (starting at 4 a.m.) since mommy and daddy were so sick and now it appears that the germinator infected them too. I feel sooo terrible after they did us such a big favor by watching her for over 14 hours (and beginning at 4 a.m. too). We owe them super huge!

Evie enjoyed her first Halloween. We stayed at the house to hand out candy and play-doh and she was a very good helper--she taste-tested quite a few of the items to ensure that they were safe for the other kids (or us, since we obviously didn't pass out the mashed, chewed and sucked on wrapped candy to anyone). Grandma got to come over and be a part of this holiday since she will miss Evie's first Thanksgiving (we plan on visiting relatives in NC). I have some video of Evie helping herself to the candy/play-doh stash which is pretty funny.

We got Evie a cheap costume at Old Navy over the weekend so she was a cow-girl by day and lobster by night. Here are some pics--now that she rolls around everywhere and is almost wanting and able to crawl it is hard to get a good 'still' shot of her but thought these were cute anyway:
What'choo looking at? Never seen a cute lobster before? :)
