Memorial Day Weekend

We had a great long weekend. Nana and grandpa watched Ms Evie while we went to see the DaVinci Code and then grandma watched Evie while we went to church, brunch and ran errands on Sunday. It was nice to get some couple time and good practice for me to be away from Evie since I go back to work in 2 weeks. I can't believe how fast the time is going.

On Saturday night Evie slept from 7:30 until 1 which was really good for her. But on Sunday night she slept from 7:30 until 3:15--just 15 minutes shy of 8 hours! That was a crazy long time and I enjoyed the extra sleep. Max was 'up' with her most of Sunday night (let me go to bed early) so he didn't get to relax as much and said he was getting worried and kept checking on her since it was such a long time for her to sleep. Last night she only slept 4 hours in a row but she slept almost all day yesterday so I guess that's fair! I would love for her to be able to sleep 7-8 hours in a row (but maybe not from 7 p.m.-3...maybe we can get her to shift to a different schedule once both of us are back at work.

Today we got a chest freezer delivered, the driveway was sealed and then tomorrow bulk pick-up is coming and PQ has surgery to remove a weird lump from his side. Thursday we are going to Shadowbox and then Saturday we are going to try out Dream Dinners which seems like a neat idea and hopefully we will like it. Basically, you go and prepare meals there (they have the ingredients all chopped/diced/prepared and you just assemble based on your tastes). The meals can then be frozen until you are ready to eat and each meal serves 4-6 people so we figure we can get 2 dinners out of every meal. We'll let you know how it goes!

We may also go to the Arts Festival and/or the Strawberry Festival this weekend, so busy, busy week!

2 Alaina's, Allison and Evie Playdate, Evie's Big Girl Bed & Evie Smile

Evie has been sleeping in her 'big girl' bed or crib every night since Friday. She is doing really well in there!

Evie has also had her feet sucked by two different Alaina's, which is too funny. We visited the Imbodens on Saturday in Dayton and Alaina I sucked her feet and then on Tuesday I went to the young mom's group at church and Alaina K. was there and also sucked on Evie's feet. Must be something about Alaina's and feet? This is a picture of Evie and Alaina I.

Evie then had a playdate with Allison on Monday. I have posted some of these pictures on the family website in her Evangeline June folder. There are also new pictures in Evie faces and in Evie Fashion Show, all new pics should load to the last page in each folder. Here is my favorite, with Evie tickling Allison's head:

And finally, just some new pictures that I love.

Gotta love it! Make sure you check out Max's post below if you haven't already!

Evie's Photo Shoot

Amy & I took Evie to Sears last night for her first "professional" photo shoot (a gift from Grandma V!). It was a bit hectic there, but even though they were in the middle of a walk-in family, they took us right back because of our appointment, and the pictures went pretty well. The photographer was really nice about working with us and Evie to get good shots, and seemed pretty open to whatever, at least until Evie hit her limit. We got through a decent amount of shots before her melt-down though, so there are some good "professional" pics coming soon.

To get a sneak-peak of the session, head on over to the Sears page. Obviously we didn't order all of them, but those are all the "originals" from the shoot. How can you not enjoy looking at pictures of Evie? She's adorable!

First Mother's Day

Yesterday was my first mother's day (Evie's too of course). It was also the first time she went to church and she wore a super special church dress:
She looked so, so cute! We could hardly stand it:)

And here's a picture of us together on our first mommy's day. We went to brunch with grandma, nana, great-grandma Treboni and great-Aunt Mary. It was super yummy! Then we celebrated mother's day and my birthday with my brother (Uncle Carl) and my sister-in-law (Aunt Reagon). Also fun and yummy! It was a wonderful day and I also got many nice cards and presents, even from Evie!

Cutest Little Baby Face

I took an entire series of Evie faces pictures which can be found by clicking this link. This is my favorite:

Daddy isn't a fan of this one but never fear, she is not angry in this picture or working up to a tantrum. Mommy caught this one in mid-sneeze.

In other news my blood pressure is much better and closer to normal so I probably don't have chronic hypertension. However I broke one of my teeth, again, and now have a very nice partial crown, installed yesterday.

Tomorrow is my first mother's day, and I got a new outfit so I can match Evie in her new outfit. We should be pretty stylin'!

Four Week Doctor's Visit

Mommy and Daddy took Evie to her 4 week doctor's appointment today. She is doing really well and is almost 10 lbs already!

Her stats:
9 lb 14 oz (55%)
22 in (75%)
15 in head circumference (75%)

So she is a long and skinny kid with a big noggin' (thank goodness her head wasn't that big at birth!). Everything else was good. She goes back at 2 months and gets yucky shots then--2 vaccinations in each leg:(

One Bath and Four Outfits Later

Today is not off to a great start and it is only 9:15 a.m.! Evie slept ok last night until about 3:30 and then she woke up lots, so I am super tired. Daddy was out late for a concert so he got in about 3 I think.

At the 7:30 feeding (and we also had a 6:30 one too and a few more before that) Daddy changed her diaper and she had peed out the back of it onto her pjs, making a change of clothes necessary (I am counting this as outfit #2 and the pjs as outfit #1). I took a picture of her in her cute new zebra outfit and then we went downstairs to feed the dogs and let them out.

After eating, Evie threw up on outfit #2 (and a little bit on mommy's pants) so we went upstairs for a quick change into outfit #3. Again, I managed to get a picture before she once more threw up all over outfit #3, her cute lady bug romper. More unfortunately this time she was in her sling, so she also managed to get yucky all over it and because of how she was laying in the sling, she got it all over her face, hair, neck, etc.
So we went upstairs to take a quick bath to wash up everything and for a change into outfit #4. She actually appeared to enjoy the bath--she was happy the entire time and then mean ol' mommy took her out and it was cold so she cried then for a second until I got her wrapped in a towel. I took her into her room to put a diaper and new clothes on her (yes, up to this point she had NO diaper on) and was cuddling her to keep her warm when I felt something on my pants and heard what sounded like water hitting the carpet. It was actually pee because I had yet to put her diaper on.

So we went back to the bathroom to get a new, dry, and non-peed on towel and I took her back into her room and managed to successfully get her into outfit #4 (and a diaper of course). Then I cleaned the carpet where she peed, changed my own clothes and we came back downstairs where the puppies were barking and fussing and I fed her again. The real funny thing is that Evie's room was the only area of the house where no dog had ever peed (which is still true) but now that carpet has been peed on.

I think this is one of those stories Evie will kill me for later, but wow, what a morning! Anyway, it was my bad for not putting her diaper on because I know that cold air and baths can make babies pee!

Evie's Best Night Yet

Evie had a rough day yesterday--she wanted to be held almost constantly and was crying a lot even when held, and after being changed and fed, etc. She finally calmed down by 9:30 p.m. so we all went to bed.

She only woke up once during the night--at 2:30 a.m. and didn't get up again until after 6, which is awesome! We think it might be from all of the crying herself into exhaustion, but who knows?

Evie also got her first bottle from daddy yesterday. She did well with it and we will keep trying bottle once or twice a day until she really gets the hang of it--then we can try a date night for us and not have to worry about her not eating. She still does not seem to like pacifiers much and I am at a point now where I am thinking maybe we should stop trying to use one--if she doesn't like it and can be soothed in other ways, why not use those? Every time she has taken a pacifier she only hangs on to it for a few minutes anyway. She keeps trying to suck on her hand (her entire hand) so maybe she'll figure that out and do it instead?

Over the weekend, Evie and I went to two restaurants and I managed to discreetly breastfeed her at both, so it is nice to be able to go out and about and get everything done without having to come home. I think we are getting the hang of all of this!

Here are my new favorite Evie Pics:
