That Bites!

Ahh, but who done it? Evie came home with an incident report from daycare today because while in the play area another kid bit her on the leg. This all happened around 10 a.m. and she still has some red toofers marks on her little leg.I photoshopped the picture to zoom in and make the contrast more obvious. As you can see the little scoundrel who dun it has 3 teeth on top/bottom and four on the other side. Daycare says they can't tell us who it was (probably because some idiots would sue or get nasty with the poor tike). I am pretty sure we all just think it is kind of funny now that the dust has settled (Evie was apparently very stoic and took it like a lady). Poor buggy!

Cutie Evie!

Evie got a new play gym so she can be a princess in her very own castle. She had lots of fun with it today:(notice the belly)
Evie is finally big enough to have her car seat facing forward so I flipped them around today. As a note, it is SO much easier installing a car seat forward facing. She was pretty excited about the new view. And here are just some recent cute Evie pics. With the weather being so nice lately it is easy to get some fun outdoor shots! Here she is sitting at her picnic table on the deck:
and here she is in a ridiculous outfit mommy bought where the shirt is WAY too short (belly shot):
and the hat is ridiculous as well. It is definitely not one size fits all as the tag implies:
And these are just Evie being cute!

Evie's New Toys

Evie has been really into cleaning stuff up lately. On Monday night she found this broom in our pantry and walked around trying to sweep stuff up for quite a while. Then we went outside to look at our almost finished deck and she was picking rocks and clumps of mud (from the posts) and handing them to us. On top of her using papertowels to wipe at the floor and trying to assist with the dishes, she is turning into a pretty excellent little housekeeper. Chores, anyone? Our deck was finished on Tuesday and it looks great--we are sooo excited to have it done in time for summer! Evie loves stomping around on it and making lots of fun noises. She also wants to go down the stairs on her own but she doesn't have a good technique yet! We got some cute furniture for it, courtesy of nana and grandpa, and Evie even has her own picnic table (which she unfortunately thinks is a climbing toy and tries to stand on). Sorry the pictures are dark--I think they were taken at about 9 p.m. last night. Our only question is what is up with the weird white vents?!?!? They were not on our building plan or ever mentioned. Apparently Columbus has a policy that the deck must be vented (fine) but this metal, usually seen indoors style venting is too odd. We are trying to see what our other options are. No one I've asked has ever seen something like this on a deck, so not sure how we were chosen as guinea pigs for it!And here's the furniture. We also have a similar sized space that is open from the back door to the grill (can sort of see the grill cover on far left) so we figure we can have lots of fun on the deck in years to come. I really like the red with our dark gray house--GO BUCKS!

Mommy's 30!

Mommy's 30th birthday was Tuesday and we had lots of fun. On Monday I ate for the first time at the Cheesecake Factory and then we went to Texas Roadhouse on her birthday. Mommy also took me to the doctor on her birthday to make sure I had gotten rid of my ear infection. It's finally gone and now I weigh 21 pounds, 5 ounces (with clothes on) and am about 31 inches long!
I enjoy helping mommy clean up--when she gives me a paper towel I find yucky spots on the floor and take care of them! I don't think mom and dad realized I could be so helpful with chores this young. We are getting a deck at my house and it is almost done so I got to stomp and play on it today! Then we went for a walk; as you can see I pushed the stroller:)

Busy May & Happy Mother's Day!!

Hey there! So it's May already, and Evie's been plenty busy so far this month! So here are some highlights of Evie's past couple weeks.

We took advantage of the great late Spring weather and used one of Evie's birthday presents (a zoo pass!) to go to the Columbus Zoo with our friends Bethany, Jeff & Glenn. The weather was great, but Columbus IS currently in that just barely too cold morning to just barely too hot afternoon phase, so by later in the day things were starting to get a bit too warm. Still, Evie had a great time taking in the sights & showing off her new shades. She especially enjoyed the flamingos and the aquarium:

Evie remains a very loved little girl, and has gotten lots of fun new presents recently -- like this great Evie-sized picnic table complete with it's own umbrella! Evie loves it - even indoors, she likes sitting and reading or playing with toys... (she also likes to try and STAND on it, much to Mommy & Daddy's chagrin - the girl's a daredevil!)

Evie's friends and family are also doing their best to make sure Evie stays in the "Best Dressed of '07" fashion lists. Here are a just a few of the many beautiful outfits she's gotten recently:

But of course, today is a special day... being Mommy's SECOND official Mother's Day! Evie even got Mommy some new Mommy-themed books to read with her during story time & bedtime. To celebrate the day, we all went to the delicious & extravagant Mother's Day Brunch at The Blackwell. Unfortunately, Grandma V. wasn't feeling well and had to stay home - get well soon Grandma V.! Evie misses you!

The food was incredible as always - it's tough not to eat until it hurts with a spread this good. Evie knows how much Daddy loves the food, and even went so far as to share her own:

Of everyone, Evie was the most sensible at lunch... which meant that she was still hungry for dinner, unlike Mommy & Daddy. So she got to try out her very first TV Dinner! (Gerber Graduates Chicken & Pasta Wheels w/ Peas) She had a good time with it, and didn't even try to flip the whole tray until the very end!

And finally, after such a busy day, what better way to end a great Mother's Day than by snuggling with Mommy!
