Evie is 10 months old, which means Allison's birthday is right around the corner! I can hardly believe how fast time has gone OR how fast all the babies I know are learning things and progressing. It is insane that when Evie June bug came out she couldn't do anything for herself, not even hold her head up or get her hand to her mouth to eat and now she crawls, pulls herself up and does a little tiny shuffle walk where she takes minuscule steps by barely moving her feet off the floor. How come we don't learn stuff this important this quickly once we are older?
Evie is having problems at swim lessons because the pool is so cold. This past Sunday I watcher her really carefully to see when she started to turn blue/chatter her teeth and she turned blue instantly. She managed to tolerate everything for about 20 minutes but then she started acting weird--burrowing in me and had a death grip on my arm like she was afraid so I took her out early again. I emailed the RPAC people and asked them to address the temperature issue--everyone was turning blue by the end so it isn't just that Evie is too fair skinned or anything. I think its kind of cold in there myself.
The surprise is actually mine and it wasn't the good kind. I have been a little sick lately and I thought it was just stress from changing jobs and all the hoopla that went on there but it turns out I have Crohns colitis. Basically, these are fancy-schmancy terms for a disease that effects the entire GI track and that you can't outgrow and for which there is no cure. I was really upset to find this out on Friday, of course, but it does explain a lot of other weird health problems (kidney stones, bad abdominal pain, etc.) I've had in the past so that's the positive spin on this one. It also does not get progressively worse which is a good deal too.
Finally, Evie has got to be teething or something. She woke up early yesterday--like 5:30 a.m. and this morning I finally got up with her at 4:30 a.m. after she had woken daddy up crying 2 times before this (but we valiantly hoped she would go back to sleep and not wake up until morning). So I got to work stupid early--7 a.m. because I had already been up for 2.5 hours so why not!?
