That has milk in it?

And now for an edition of weird things that have milk in them. You may already know that McDonald's french fries contain whey (milk), but as Evie requested to have the same lipgloss as mommy I looked down at the ingredients listing on my tube of peach chapstick and it has MILK in it. Milk in chapstick? Seriously?

I was looking at a chocolate bar a few weeks ago and it was 'milk chocolate' with milk at the top of the ingredients list. Underneath the ingredients list was an allergy alert (you've seen them, right) and the allergy alert read something like: "Allergy alert: Contains wheat and soy ingredients. May contain traces of peanuts and tree nuts." It did not however, mention MILK being an ingredient (like the first or second one even). I wasn't buying that for Evie but on principal I am not supporting that company's dopiness either.

And some more insanity. Did you know that miniaturizing something requires milk? Me neither! But here are some examples:
  • Oreos=no milk, Mini-Oreos=MILK!
  • Brown Sugar Cinnamon Pop-tarts=no milk, Brown Sugar Cinnamon Go-tarts=MILK!
  • Pepperidge Farm gingerbread men=no milk, PF mini gingerbread men=MILK!
My most favoritest things though are the labels that say 'dairy-free*'. The * always links back to there being some small amount of dairy in the item. Casein, which Evie IS allergic to, is dairy. It is in a plethora of things that are otherwise dairy-free--but oh well.

Some sugar free mints and "whitening" gums also have milk in them.
