Evie's a 'Keeper'

Evie did great at daycare this week. She had a few meltdowns on her first day but no reports of anything for the rest of the week--she is an amazing baby! When I picked her up on Thursday afternoon she was listening to one of the ladies at Merry Moppet singing wheels on the bus very intently--it was hard to get her attention! Then, Evie was trying to mimic the arm motions for 'round and round' and it was sooo cute.

According to the folks at daycare they usually don't put infants in the excersaucer until they are a little older than Evie is...but Evie was so strong they tried her in it and she of course was a champ--she loves the one we have here at home and her 'saucer at Nana's so no surprise there:) Geon said Evie did better in the excersaucer than a lot of their older kids! 5 days at daycare and she's already trying to show up the other little kids!

On Friday daddy picked her up and Sarai said she was a 'keeper' and told him we aren't allowed to move--if we are considering moving Sarai said she would be happy to take Evie--like we'd ever give her up. It is great knowing that they love her and we've seen her cuddling with the 3 teachers in her room there and playing with the 'lunch lady' which is nice--she has lots of new adult friends and many baby friends to come too.

Wednesday, Glenn and Bethany came to visit--Glenn is getting so big. At 2 months he is over 11 lbs which is huge since he was 5 lbs 11oz at birth. Here they are together:
Notice Ms E is eating the toy bar of her bouncy seat--she will stick anything in her mouth. Including:

a mitten, the couch cushions, toys and of course Aunt Laurie's nose!

Otherwise not much too terribly new with Evie. She loves to laugh and mimic us laughing at her, particularly when daddy laughs at her. Too fun. Here are some cute pics just for fun:

Evie June's First Day of School

Evie June wasn't sure about starting school today

Even though she looked super cute in her outfit from her Aunt Holly and Uncle Steve.

She did fine when mommy dropped her off and immediately tried to eat the rungs of her crib at Merry Moppet, because she's just crazy like that! Apparently, she cried 2x this morning but was calmed down by the bouncy seats and a little attention. Can we say diva? :)

She had fun with the teachers in her room and came home happy......and able to feed herself a bottle? That is one great daycare to teach her something so important in one day!

Bomb-diggity Evie Pt. 1

Evie gave me a scare this morning because she had a lot of dried blood pooled in her ear lobe and I wasn't sure if it was from a cut (which it turned out it was) or from her ear drum (which it wasn't thank goodness!). Here's what I saw though:

Her first big ouchie--which she got before daycare. She starts at Merry Moppet on Monday--time goes so fast! Here she is one last time for today--what a big girl!

Either she is tall or mommy has short calves!

And before I forget, Evie is a rolling princess--she can go easily from back-front but not so good at getting herself front-back. She woke us up Thursday night because she got stuck on her stomach and freaked out. She's a riot!

Evie is just so awesome-licious. She started her first real food Sunday--rice cereal--and is already turning into a pro! I think she might like it better than Allison does. I know people vary on their opinions of when to start food, but Evie wants to eat way more than I can produce so I am glad we are able to supplement with rice cereal and maybe some other things soon instead of formula (which I really don't want to have to pay for:) ). So far, so good, although with the new TSA guidelines about liquids I have no idea whether we can keep up breast-milk only once mommy starts travelling. Keep your fingers crossed for us!
